Project Overview:

This Project explores the successful integration of secondary steel support into a complex façade design. The project aimed to create a visually striking and structurally sound building envelope that would enhance the building's overall performance and aesthetic appeal.

Design and Engineering

  • Secondary Steel Support: A robust secondary steel support system was designed to provide the necessary structural support for the curtain wall and cladding elements. The system was carefully engineered to withstand wind loads, seismic forces, and other environmental factors.

  • BIM Modeling with Revit 2017: A detailed BIM model of the façade was created using Revit 2017 to visualize the design intent, identify potential clashes, and optimize fabrication and installation processes.

Project Outcomes and Benefits

  • Enhanced Structural Integrity: The secondary steel support system provided the necessary strength and rigidity to ensure the long-term durability and performance of the façade.

  • Optimized Design: The use of BIM modeling allowed for early identification and resolution of design issues, leading to a more efficient and cost-effective design process.

  • Improved Construction Efficiency: Detailed fabrication drawings generated from the BIM model facilitated accurate fabrication and installation of the façade components.

  • Aesthetics and Performance: The secondary steel support system was designed to be visually appealing while providing the necessary structural support.

  • Early Collaboration: Close collaboration between the design team, structural engineers, and fabricators is essential for successful project outcomes.

  • Leveraging BIM: Utilizing BIM technology can significantly improve design accuracy, coordination, and construction efficiency.

  • Quality Materials and Systems: Investing in high-quality materials and systems can lead to significant long-term benefits.

By carefully considering the structural requirements and aesthetic goals of the project, the team was able to successfully integrate the secondary steel support system into the façade design, resulting in a visually striking and structurally sound building envelope.
